System Comments

(2010) Wells not drilled yet.
(2011) Ownership was updated on 1/3/12 on the water rights. Updated this
system from JB Ranch Inc. on 2/14/2012. DD
(2012) J.B. Ranch has other water rights such as Pace Reservoir (approx. 50
acre surface, 2-5 feet deep) that is filled by ditch in spring, various
springs and livestock watering ponds. Pace Lake is wed for irrigation of
crops in Kirk's Basin, cattle also water there; ponds are used for livestock
watering; there are also 3 small domestic wells on ranch that are permitted
for household/residential use. Water rights were transferred J.B. Ranch Inc.
to James L. and Janet M. Gallogly in December of 2011, filed with the State,
and recorded. Please advise if additional information is required.
Amount of product produced: generally consumed by cattle, sheep, and wildlife
(elk and deer), horses.
**** 2013 **** Annual Water Use Breakdown ****
2013 was a very dry year in the spring with decent rain following mid July.
We did not produce enough crops for sale but did use such for cattle and
sheep grazing.
Elk and deer typically eat all our remaining crop in the fields during Sept.
through winter.
**** 2014 **** Annual Water Use Breakdown ****
we produced about 300 bales of hay, other crops consumed by cattle, deer and
elk. (irrigated all allowed acres from permits)
Also, we filled Pace Lake at the beginning of the season and used
approximately 1/4 of its capacity this year as we had decent summer rains.
I do not know the quantity consumed, however.
We also just started to use the new well drilled two years ago for domestic
use late in the fall as that is when the house was finally completed.
Very little water was used as the house was only occupied about one month
total in the year.
**** 2015 **** Annual Water Use Breakdown ****
Most of the hay is grazed off, sold several hundred bales.
Alfafa and winter wheat is grazed off as well, mostly by elk and deer.
**** 2016 **** Annual Water Use Breakdown ****
The water rights have been transferred to a wholly owned LLC, Crimson and
Cream Cattle Company.
We had a wet spring and early summer and a dry Sept/Oct.
We produced about 250 bales of hay as most of the crops were grazed off,
primarily by elk and deer and some cattle.
**** 2016 **** Irrigation ****
**** 2017 **** We produced about 250 bales of hay.
Elk, deer and some cattle forage the rest of the production on the irrigated
ground.

Comments

(2012) pond filled twice per season
**** 2013 **** Earthen Dam ****
The ditch to Pace Lake did not flow water in 2013 due to limited snow pack.
The water used for irrigation was drawn down from existing storage in the
lake.
Later months in the late summer did not require irrigation due to adequate
rains. Pace Lake was also dipped by fire fighters to fight local forest fires
during 2013.
The lake was about half full at the end of the ranching season in late
October.
**** 2015 **** Earthen Dam ****
Pace Lake is filled in the spring from a ditch system.
The lake was fairly full from the previous year and did not take much new
water this year.
We irrigated crops several times in the spring/summer but had decent
moisture this year from natural rain so there was less irrigation than
normal.
Utah firefighters did not use the lake this year
**** 2016 **** Earthen Dam **** Pace Lake is filled from a ditch system.
The lake was in decent shape in the spring and finished the year about two
thirds full I think.
Utah firefighters did not use the lake this year either.
**** 2017 **** 2017 started with wet spring and then became very dry.
Pace Lake was full at the beginning of the year and about half full at the
end of the 2017 irrigation season.
**** 2020 ****
By the end of October, it remained at an estimated 40% full.

Comments

(2012) Well drilled and produces only 3 gpm. Use will be converted to
household use from irrigation (insufficient).
-pump not yet installed.
**** 2013 **** North 440 Well ****
This well was drilled and will be tied into the house on site that is still
under construction in early 2014.
No water was used in 2013 given the house is not yet complete.
(Expect completion in April or May of 2014.)
**** 2015 **** North 440 Well ****
This is used as a house well during the ranch season, not metered, 3 people
use house.
we do not know the yield of the well as it is quite old but seems to produce
all the water needed for domestic use.
**** 2016 **** North 440 Well ****
This is used as a domestic well during the ranch season.
It is not metered.
About 2-5 people use the house as guests (sometimes more) during the spring,
summer and fall.
**** 2017 ****
Ranch is open from April through the end of October and there is household
use of well and minor yard irrigation.
**** 2023 ****
The well components all failed due to high water table in spring.
The winter had the highest precipitation total in 35 years.
The well components were upgraded and operational by early July, hence the
change in the April through June usage.
