Dear Water Users and Interested Parties;
You are invited to a public meeting to discuss ground-water administration and management issues in Salt Lake Valley. This public meeting will be held:
Date: Wednesday, May 17, 2000Time: 10:00 am
Place: Utah Department of Natural Resources
1584 West North Temple
Room 1050
Salt Lake City, Utah
In March, 1999 the State Engineer held a public meeting and presented
a proposed update to the Interim Ground-Water Management Plan for Salt
Lake Valley which was issued in 1991. Following the meeting we were contacted
by several water suppliers who stated they were unable to attend the meeting
or did not receive notice of it. Therefore, we have been meeting individually
with such entities and extended the comment period to allow for these situations.
We have thoroughly considered all comments submitted and have modified
the proposed Management Plan accordingly.
At the public meeting on May 17 we will present a new version of the proposed ground-water management plan for your review and comments. We will discuss the elements of the management plan and several water management issues which we believe need to be reviewed. We look forward to your attendance at this meeting.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals
needing special accommodations should notify Beth Gray at the address on
the letterhead at least three (3) days prior to the meeting.
Sincerely,
Robert L. Morgan, P.E.
State Engineer
