JOHNSON CANYON WATER RIGHT PRIORITY LISTS

The following lists show the valid, existing water rights in the Johnson Wash drainage of Utah. The first four lists are sorted by priority date. The fifth list is sorted by township, range, and section. The sixth list explains the column headings. The links below contain the Johnson Canyon Water Right Priority Lists.

1) All Water Rights

2) All Irrigation Water Rights

3) All Domestic and Stockwatering Water Rights

4) All Water Rights for Other Uses

5) All Water rights Sorted by Township; Range; and Section

6) Explanation of Column Heading

In preparing these lists, certain assumptions were made to estimate potential diversions and potential depletions for each water right. These assumptions are as follows.

Irrigation

Diversion Duty. An irrigation diversion duty of 5.0 acre-feet per acre (af/ac) was used as per the Proposed Determination of Water Rights.

Depletion Duty. An irrigation depletion duty of 2.46 af/ac was used based on the growing of alfalfa near Kanab.

Irrigated Acres. Unless a sole supply acreage was given on the water right, it was assumed to be total acreage on the right divided by the number of supplemental water rights for that purpose.

Potential Diversion. The number of irrigated acres times the diversion duty.

Potential Depletion. The number of irrigated acres times the depletion duty.

Domestic and Stockwatering

Potential Diversion. Unless quantified on the water right, the number of families times 0.45 af per family, plus the number of head of livestock times 0.028 af per head.

Potential Depletion. 15% of the potential diversion.

Other Uses

Potential Diversion. Unless quantified on the water right, the flowrate in cfs times 181.12 af per year.

Potential Depletion. 25% of the potential diversion.

All Uses

Potential Diversion. The sum of the potential diversions for the individual uses.

Potential Depletion. The sum of the potential depletions for the individual uses.
