The Division of Water Rights presents information to the public through public meetings when changes in policy or other important events occur which will affect water users. This page is provided to help advertise those meetings and provide a summary of the information presented.

PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING THE PROPOSED DETERMINATION OF WATER RIGHTS WITHIN THE RED BUTTE CREEK SUBDIVISION, SALT LAKE COUNTY EAST DIVISION OF UTAH LAKE / JORDAN RIVER DRAINAGE; AREA NO. 57, BOOK 3

Due to the ongoing restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will be conducted electronically to avoid mass gathering and provide expanded opportunity for parties to participate. Instructions on how to participate in the meeting via web-conference or telephone can be found at the above web address.
Purpose:

In accordance with Chapter 73-4, Utah Code Annotated, and the Third Judicial District Court (Civil No. 365729823), the State Engineer has completed a general determination of the rights to the use of all water, both surface and underground, within the drainage area of the Red Butte Creek Subdivision, Salt Lake County East Division, of the Utah Lake and Jordan River drainage in Salt Lake County.

In light of the completion of this work, the Division of Water Rights will hold a public meeting in order to review the proposed determination and answer questions. Representatives from the Division of Water Rights will be available during this time to discuss water rights within the proposed determination and answer any questions.

PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING THE RECENT HYDROGEOLOGIC STUDY & WATER RIGHT POLICY FOR OGDEN VALLEY IN WEBER COUNTY

Where:The public meeting will be viewable via live stream broadcast online at http://www.waterrights.utah.gov/publicmeetings. Questions and comments may be sent via chat during the meeting. Questions and comments received during the meeting will be addressed at the meeting.
Purpose:

The purpose of the meeting is to review Utah Geological Survey's (UGS) Special Study 165 "Characterization of the Groundwater System in Ogden Valley, Weber County, Utah, with Emphasis on Groundwater–Surface-Water Interaction and the Groundwater Budget" and discuss current water right appropriation policy. Personnel from the Division of Water Rights will be available to take all questions and comments provided by the general public and interested parties.
